The Upper Iroquois Watershed Initiative is more than a plan. It is action. We have 319 Grant money for Cost-Share Programs beginning in November 2014. 319 money comes from the federal government and is distributed to each state. It is used to support and assess the success of specific nonpoint pollution projects.
The UIWI program is actually a mix of conservation programs and funding opportunities. Once the UIWI receives your application form, you will be contacted to review opportunities for your property and your conservation goals. Our staff will assist with enrollment and other paperwork required of those programs.
You can pre-apply now. Projects will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Pre-enrollment will serve to place your project(s) in the queue as well as expedite conservation planning as required by the various agencies.
To apply online, click on the Agriculture or Urban form, depending on your needs. A new window will open. Answer the questions to the best of your ability and click submit. You may also contact our partner SWCDs for forms and to submit applications. We are always available to answer your questions.
You will be asked to choose which Best Management Practice(s) (BMPs) you want to implement. If you need to review the BMPs, download the pdf here:
